
Zimbabwe – Zimbabwe has been granted a license to grow cannabis legally. Zimbabwe became the second country to be granted the license after Lesotho was granted its license last year. The nation of Zimbabwe of late has been urged to apply for licenses to farm and produce cannabis for medical and scientific purposes.
The renewable 5 years’ license will allow farmers to grow, transport and sell the products of cannabis. Individual farmers who want to apply for the license must be citizens of Zimbabwe or produce proof of resident whilst corporate businesses must produce proof of incorporation in the country.
In the past years and till current Zimbabweans are arrested for illegally growing cannabis and offenders face up to 12 years in jail.
