Detailed Information
United World Colleges (UWC) is a global education movement with 18 schools across four continents, aiming to unite people and cultures through education. For the 2026/2027 academic year, Eswatini has 9 scholarship offers that cover tuition, accommodation, meals, books, and medical insurance, with some schools also providing flights, laptops, calculators, and pocket money, depending on financial need.
Scholarships vary by college, and families may need to cover certain costs like visa fees, vaccinations, or travel, depending on the school.
Eligibility requires applicants to be Eswatini citizens or refugees, Form 5/IGCSE graduates or current Form 5 students in 2025, under 19 years old by 1 August 2026, with at least 70% average in IGCSE/EGCSE results. Candidates must also show strong leadership, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and good English skills.
Applications are strictly online. Required documents include transcripts, JC results, recommendation letters, proof of achievements, and certificates. The process includes an entrance test at Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA on 21 February 2026 (fee E500, with possible waiver), followed by interviews.
Selection is merit-based, but scholarships are awarded according to financial need, so families must complete a Financial Needs Assessment with proof of income.
Successful students will join UWC’s diverse international community to study the IB Diploma, combining academics with experiential learning, service, and cultural exchange.
