Sharing is Caring- President Uhuru Kenyatta Cuts his Salary by Half

Kenya – Newly sworn-in President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to cut his salary by a quarter. Kenyatta made this pledge in a nation-wide address in which he warned of tough times ahead for a broke country. According to eNCA reports where it said the state of the economy that is as administration inherited leaves a lot to do and to be decided. The president was elected at the end of last year.

President Uhuru Kenyatta says the economy is falling, the government is broke and the currency is in a free fall as inflation is rising. He noted that unemployment rate is in unpreceded high and foreign reserves are very low. Kenyatta has promised a crake down on endemic corruption as he was sworn in a week ago.  On another note, Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta authorizes have shut down a private television and radio stations as thousands of supporters have opposition leader Amolo Odinga. Gathered in a Nairobi park which he was due to take the presidential oath in an act of protest. Odinga’s supporters insist that he is a legitimate leader instead of President Uhuru Kenyatta. The attorney general had warned that Odinga could be charged with treason if the event went ahead. Treason is an offence that carries a death penalty and thousands of people gathered in Uhuru Park near Nairobi’s main business district to force independent where authorizes began to force independent television and radio station to not report on the matter according to eNCA news some of the reporters on site said that this was the first of such closures is decade. Many of the protests shouted Odinga slogans and blew hones and whistles shouting that Odinga is the one they recognize as president. Kenyatta election victory in August was nullified by the supreme over irregularities but then won the re-run.
