Jacob Zuma’s supporters are mounting a spirited fight against what they see as his unfair isolation and the election imagination of those who did not support President Cyril Ramaphosa at the ANC’s national elective conference in December.
As Zuma launched strides and threats against defrosting the ANC alliance his supporters rallied behind him and vow to resist pressure by the party’s national leadership not to openly support him during his criminal trial.
News24 reported that delegates to the board at KZN conference that was supposed to commence at Empangeni (8-06) shuttled down ANC national chairperson who is Ramaphosa ally. It is believed that those close Zuma did not want to accommodate their opponent. It is also believed that Zuma himself was not favour of compromise still preferring his supporters to make a clean sweep of leadership positions.
