“Suitcase Killer” Jailed 42 Years After Double Murder in London Flat
“Suitcase Killer” jailed for 42 years after murdering two men in London and dumping their remains in suitcases at Clifton Suspension Bridge. The victims were killed in their flat, one bludgeoned, the other stabbed during a sex act.
In a chilling case that gripped the UK, Yostin Andres Mosquera, a 35-year-old Colombian national, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 42 years for the brutal murders of two men in west London.
As reported by BBC News, Sky News, and The Guardian, Mosquera killed civil partners Paul Longworth, 71, and Albert Alfonso, 62, in their Shepherd’s Bush flat. Longworth was bludgeoned with a hammer, while Alfonso was repeatedly stabbed during a sex act, an attack captured on four cameras set up in the bedroom.
According to Sky News, Mosquera butcheredboth victims and packed their remains into suitcases, which he attempted to dump off Bristol’s Clifton Suspension Bridge. Staff discovered the suitcases on 10 July 2024 after noticing red liquid leaking from them.
During sentencing, Mr Justice Bennathan described Mosquera as “odd,” capable of charm but prone to lies. He noted that the weapons used were already in the victims’ flat, suggesting “significant planning, but not substantial.”
Mosquera also received a concurrent 16-month sentence for possession of indecent images of children. As The Guardian highlighted, the judge condemned his actions as “thoroughly wicked crimes.”
Mosquera had served in the Colombian military, lived in Medellín, and had two children and a female partner. His relationship with Alfonso began online and involved financial support and shared interests in extreme sexual practices.
