Abducted US-Mexican Influencer Found Alive in Sinaloa after Viral Gunpoint Video
Nicole Pardo, a US-Mexican social media influencer known online as “La Nicholette,” has been found alive and in good health by authorities in the north-western Mexican state of Sinaloa, the Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office announced Saturday. The 20-year-old had sparked widespread concern after disappearing on January 20 and a disturbing video of her abduction went viral on social media.
Footage purportedly recorded by cameras on Pardo’s distinctive lilac Tesla Cyber truck appears to show several armed men forcing her into a waiting vehicle at gunpoint in broad daylight in the Isla Musalá neighbourhood of Culiacán, the state capital. The video circulated rapidly online, prompting a missing person alert from local authorities.
In a social media post, the Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office thanked the public for its assistance in locating Pardo and confirmed she was found “alive and in good health,” though further details about her recovery have not been released.
The incident drew immediate attention from the US State Department. A spokesperson told CNN that the department was “aware of reports of the situation and is actively monitoring it,” adding that Washington “stands ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance to Americans in need abroad.”
Pardo, who divides her time between Culiacán and Phoenix, Arizona, has amassed a large following across platforms, including Instagram and TikTok. Her disappearance and the role of her vehicle’s on-board cameras in documenting the abduction drew global media attention.
Her case highlights a broader, troubling trend: violence against women in Sinaloa has been rising, with the state reporting 72 femicides in 2025, more than double the previous year’s total and the highest in seven years. The spike in violence underscores ongoing safety concerns across the region.
