Pop icon Bruno Mars has officially ended the nearly decade-long wait for his next solo project. On January 5, 2026, Mars took to social media with a simple, monumental announcement: “My album is done.” This confirmation marks his first full-length solo effort since the Grammy-sweeping 24K Magic in 2016.

While fans have eagerly awaited a new album, Mars has hardly been silent. In the years since 24K Magic, he launched the critically acclaimed and retro-inspired side project Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak. He also made a major global impact with featured artists, most notably on the 2024 chart-topping hit "APT." with BLACKPINK's Rosé, a song that broke streaming records and earned multiple Grammy nominations.

The announcement has ignited widespread speculation about the new album's sound. Given Mars's recent collaborations—from the glam-rock duet "Die With a Smile" with Lady Gaga to a surprise performance with rock legends like Slash and Eddie Vedder—the new material could showcase a more eclectic, live-instrumentation-driven side of the artist.

Whatever direction he takes, one thing is clear: Bruno Mars is poised to re-enter the solo spotlight and launch a major new chapter in his career, ready to once again dominate the charts and capture the pop culture zeitgeist.
