BTS Announces Historic $1 Billion Comeback Tour After Four-Year Hiatus

Global K-pop phenomenon BTS has announced a colossal 79-date world tour for 2026-2027, marking their full-group return from military service and a hiatus that could generate over $1 billion in revenue for the band and their label, Hybe.

BTS Announces Historic $1 Billion Comeback Tour After Four-Year Hiatus

After a four-year hiatus for mandatory military service, the seven members of BTS are reuniting for what is poised to be one of the most lucrative tours in music history. The group announced a mammoth 79-date world tour spanning from April 2026 to March 2027, with stops across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Australia.

The tour is projected to generate more than $1 billion in total revenue from concerts, merchandise, and related ventures for BTS and their label, Hybe. This staggering figure underscores the band's immense global popularity, which saw their previous tour earn a record $246 million for a K-pop act. Their return is critical for Hybe, which reported a 37.5% drop in operating profit during the group's break.

The tour will kick off with three nights in Goyang, South Korea, on April 9, 2026. It features major stadium shows, including two nights at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in July 2026. The production will feature a 360-degree "in-the-round" stage to maximize seating.

Fans, known as ARMY, are eagerly anticipating the chance to see the full group live for the first time in almost four years. This demand is expected to create a ticket scramble reminiscent of major tours by artists like Taylor Swift. The excitement was evident when the band's fan platform, Weverse, crashed on New Year's Day after they cleared their social media to tease new music.

The tour announcement follows the completion of military service by the last member, Suga, in June 2025. A new, yet-to-be-titled album is scheduled for release on March 20, 2026, setting the stage for their global return. Handwritten letters from the members expressed their gratitude and excitement, with Jimin writing, "The year we've been waiting for has finally arrived."
