Burna Boy’s recent concert in Texas seemed to be missing quite some fans. The attendance rate was eighteen thousand, quite low for a Grammy winning artist like Burna Boy. Videos circulating on social media show fans seeming less enthusiastic as he performed on stage.

The turn out however made a lot of online fans happy given the artist’s behavior towards a dear fan who attended his Denver concert. A lady and her boyfriend were in attendance, and she appeared to be asleep whilst he was performing. Upon noticing her, he stopped the music to address her. He told her that, “Bro, I’m not doing no more songs until you take her home. Wallahi, I’m not doing another song until you go home.” 

There was a mixture of disbelief and cheer in the audience; some questioned his decision since the couple paid for their seats, while others wanted them to leave given his threat to cancel his show.

“It’s my birthday so I want you to keep performing,” said a fan at his concert who wanted him to keep performing. The couple at first seemed startled and upset that he would humiliate them so and eventually decided to leave.

Social media did not forgive his actions as they took to the comments to express their disappointment. “He’s so arrogant,” said a user on Tik Tok and more pointed out his rude behavior. US rapper, Eminem, also shared a tweet with the caption, “Yo this is not cool,” towards the Nigerian star’s actions.

Burna Boy later took to Instagram with a rather weak apology that did not please the masses. At first, he explains that he is a hard working person so having seen the lady sleeping at his concert did not please him. He places all his time and efforts to create a great show for everyone. His second caption, however, which said, “I sincerely apologize if I’m wrong, I’m not always right but I feel right about this,” sparked outrage from fans, calling for his cancellation.

His low ticket sales for the Texas concert were the fans response towards him.

As for the lady who slept at his concert, she took to Instagram to explain why she was sleeping at his concert. In a long comment she explained the embarrassing act from Burna Boy and how deeply humiliating it was for the couple. She was going through grief for her daughter’s father’s passing and went to the concert to cheer her spirits. Burna Boy was fashionably late at the concert and by the time he was performing, her body grew tired and she then rested.
