KPA’s Strong Preparation Exposes First Bank’s Weaknesses in WBLA Clash
KPA’s dominant win over First Bank in the WBLA tournament highlighted the team’s tactical discipline and careful preparation. Coach Nabil Kabalan said the team had analysed First Bank’s earlier performance and used that knowledge to control the game, despite still seeing areas where KPA must improve.
KPA’s 82–53 victory over First Bank was not just a big result, it was a display of planning and awareness. Coach Nabil Kabalan made it clear that the team’s strong preparation played a major role in the wide margin.
According to Kabalan, KPA had spent time studying First Bank’s opening game and expected them to enter the match with plenty of energy after starting their campaign with a loss. He said the team knew what kind of intensity was coming, and they prepared to match it from the first minute.
First Bank did begin with pace and aggression, but KPA managed the early pressure well. Kabalan felt his players stayed calm, kept their structure, and gradually took control through better spacing, ball movement and defensive organisation.
He was satisfied with how the team stuck to the plan and slowly imposed their own style of play as the game progressed.
However, even with the comfortable win, Kabalan believed the team still had several areas to improve. He felt that top teams must maintain a higher level of consistency and that KPA showed moments where their focus dropped. He pointed to decision-making, transition play and maintaining sharpness across all four quarters as areas needing attention.
The victory puts KPA in a strong position in the WBLA campaign, but Kabalan remained cautious. He said the tournament is long and tougher tests are still ahead, stressing that the team must stay humble and prepared.
Kabalan also recognised First Bank’s effort, saying their speed and intensity provided a valuable challenge for KPA. He believed matches like this help the team grow and push for better performances in future games.
