Man United Drop Points Again as Fans Show Anger
Manchester United drew 1-1 with West Ham at Old Trafford. The result left fans and manager Ruben Amorim frustrated, as the team once again failed to keep a late lead.
Manchester United’s problems continued after they drew 1-1 with West Ham at home on Thursday night. Ruben Amorim did not hide his frustration and said he felt angry after the final whistle.
United fans also showed their anger by booing the team as they left the pitch. Former captain Roy Keane agreed with the fans and said he does not trust this team. He added that there are still big problems in defence and midfield.
United had taken the lead in the second half through Diogo Dalot. However, they failed to hold on. In the 83rd minute, West Ham’s Soungoutou Magassa scored after reacting quickly from a corner. It was his first goal in English football.
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo said the equaliser was deserved. His team has struggled away from home this season, but they managed to take a point at Old Trafford.
Amorim said his players lost the second ball and allowed a corner they should have dealt with better. He explained that small mistakes are costing them important points.
This is not the first time United has dropped points late. They had similar problems against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham. After the international break, they even lost at home to Everton, who only had ten players.
Because of this draw, United dropped back to eighth place. Eleven teams are now separated by only four points, making the table very tight and uncertain.
Although United showed some improvement earlier in the season, they have now won just one of their last five games. Amorim says the team is not going backwards, but admits they are inconsistent.
United will now travel to face bottom side Wolves on Monday, hoping to finally turn things around.
