Salah’s Words Deepen Crisis at Struggling Liverpool
Mohamed Salah’s comments after Liverpool’s 3–3 draw with Leeds have added more tension to a club that is already going through a difficult period. Even though he did not play in the match, he became the main focus after saying he felt he was being blamed and pushed aside by the club.
Salah suggested that Liverpool had broken promises made to him in the summer. He also indicated that his relationship with coach Arne Slot had completely broken down and that they no longer communicate. He felt he was being treated unfairly after many years of effort and success at the club.
This is the first time in his Liverpool career that Salah has been left out of consecutive Premier League starting line-ups. He has now been benched three times in a row, including matches against West Ham, Sunderland and Leeds. Liverpool have only won four of their last 15 matches in all competitions.
The Egyptian forward has struggled for form this season, scoring five goals in 18 appearances, but he made it clear that he does not believe he is the main problem at the club.
After the Leeds match, Salah revealed that he had asked his family to come to the Brighton game, which will be his final match before travelling to Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations. His words have increased speculation that he could leave Liverpool in January.
Liverpool’s poor results, including a Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven last month, have created pressure on both the manager and the club’s leadership. However, sources within the club suggest that Slot is unlikely to be sacked, as Liverpool is known for being patient with their managers.
For now, Salah’s future at Anfield remains uncertain, and his comments have only made the situation more tense for everyone involved.
